Welder/Fitter


Great Lakes Technologies (GLT) is hiring a Welder/Fitter. The Welder/Fitter needs to be proficient at reading blueprints, fitting, and completing high quality weldments. This position reports to the Production Manager.


Hours are Monday through Thursday 7:30am-5:30pm, with Friday overtime (as required).


Responsibilities:

- Maintain safe operations by adhering to company safety rules and regulations.

- Safely operate and maintain all weld machines.

- Effectively produce stitch welds, seam welds, and sanitary seam welds (ground and not ground).

- Effectively read blueprints and customer specifications.

- Assembly of products that requires the use of hand tools.

- Lift and/or turn product using the forklift and/or crane.

- Approve and document all work for quality and completeness before moving to next operation.

- Maintain a well-organized and clean work environment in the weld department.


Skills:

- Minimum two years proven welding experience.

- Proven measurement and mathematical skills.

- Weld certification is a plus.


Safety Equipment Required:

- Must wear safety eyeglasses while on the manufacturing floor.

- Must wear steel toe shoes while on the manufacturing floor.

- Must have own weld helmet.


Physical Requirements:

- Stand- Must be able to stand in a stationary position 50% of the day.

- Kneel, crouch, or bending- Occasionally positions self to weld larger pieces of equipment.

- Carry weight, lift- Exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently to move material.

- Climb- Occasionally climb a ladder to weld equipment six feet and above.

Industrial Powder Coating Operator/Painter


Great Lakes Technologies (GLT) is hiring an Industrial Powder Coating Operator/Painter. This individual is responsible for powder coating and painting duties within the manufacturing plant. These include but are not limited to:  applying coatings to various parts and structures, performing inspections, clean ups, proper storage and disposal of powder coat and paint products and operating various tools and equipment. This position reports to the Production Manager.

- Prepare and powder coat or paint a variety of surfaces including steel, aluminum, and other shop coated metal, uncoated metal, finished hardware, accessories and other surfaces as specified.

- Safely operate and maintain all powder coating and paint equipment.

- Effectively read and understand customer specifications.

- Assembly of products that requires the use of hand tools.

- Lift and/or turn product using the forklift and/or crane.

- Approve and document all work for quality and completeness before moving to next operation.

- Maintain a well-organized and clean work environment.

- Minimum two years proven powder coating/paint experience.

- Proven measurement and mathematical skills.
